Professional Experience

Vicki is a Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist with over 20 years experience in working with mood disorders, trauma and PTSD having worked across both the public mental health system and private practice. Vicki has experience in working with both children and adults who have experienced trauma. Vicki’s work integrates body mind neuroscience and social connectedness to understand and treat mental health symptoms.

Professional Skills/Techniques

Vicki has a broad experience in providing therapy to a range of children and adolescents and their families as well as expert consultation to agencies to enhance their trauma focused service delivery.

Vicki uses a range of therapeutic modalities which include specialised trauma approaches, psychodynamic therapy, interpersonal therapy, attachment theory, cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness and body-oriented therapy.

She is also well trained in play therapy for children and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Re-processing) to assist in resolving trauma and anxiety.

Vicki supports clients to address past traumatic experiences to recognise and change negative core beliefs and unhelpful thoughts and behaviours to build lasting relationships and connections.
