Relationship Counselling

“I believe that two people are connected at the heart, and no matter what you do, who you are or where you live; there are no boundaries or barriers if two people are destined to be together” – Julia Roberts

Relationships are wonderful things, in many ways what life is truly about. But they aren’t always easy. Sometimes we face a tough choice, to fight for our connections or to let them go. Reaching this decision can be incredibly difficult and it helps to have a compassionate, trusted psychologist there to help.

At VICPARK PSYCHOLOGY, we specialise in relationship counselling to help those who are meant to be together, stay together. It might seem terrifying, facing this stage. And admitting you need help is half the battle. This is as true for couples as it is for individuals. But in truth, when adversity hits and we start to become distant from the person we love most, seeking help to find our way back speaks volumes of our commitment. In doing this we are telling our partner, our self and the world that if there is a chance things can be mended, we love them enough to try.

At VICPARK PSYCHOLOGY, we appreciate and admire this effort. We believe this act of love is alone enough to set a couple on a path back to one another, we are just here to guide you. For more information about how we can help mend your relationship. Please contact VICPARK PSYCHOLOGY at 08-6196 2415 or send an email to admin@vicparkpsychology.com.au.

A popular misconception that surrounds relationship or marriage counselling is that turning to a dedicated professional for help is act of desperation and signifies a severely damaged relationship that is unlikely to survive. Of course, this is far from the truth. Enlisting guidance and support are not just reserved for a time of crisis – although it can certainly be of benefit in those circumstances, it can be used even when relationships are going well, simply to strengthen and deepen the bond between a couple.

At Vic Park Psychology we offer relationship and couples counselling from our central Perth location and have a team of 5 highly experienced and dedicated practitioners (trained in Gottman Couples Therapy, attachment-based models such as Emotionally Focused Therapy etc.) with a passion and commitment to keep couples, whether married or not, together in a harmonious relationship. Relationships rarely go smoothly all the time, there will be conflicts and hurdles to overcome, which often a couple with a loving relationship can overcome without help. However, when the time arrives that the number or severity of obstacles begins to affect your relationship, it is probably time for a positive intervention.

Differing therapies will suit differing couples and the difficulties that they face, but the core focus will be on understanding that communication – with empathy and compassion and dealing with conflict and problem solving with less fear and or anger will guide you back towards a fulfilling relationship.

There is no need to wait until you are emotionally exhausted before seeking some guidance with your relationship, contact us today to find out how we can help.
